Sleep position and personality

An old proverb states: "The king sleeps on his back, the wise man on his side, the rich man on his stomach".

It is common for feisty people with a strong sense of self-worth to sleep on their backs, which can sometimes appear arrogant. Laying on one's back in sleep with the thighs folded down can indicate openness not only in the sexual sphere, but also in life in general. For health reasons, sleeping on the back promotes general relaxation and looseness of the whole body, but sleeping on the back also intensifies snoring.

We are happy to sleep on our side. It seems that the fetal position is chosen by anxious, closed-in people. It is a silent signal under the title 'I need support'. A head covered by a pillow represents anxiety about the future. The most favourable position is with an upright posture and slightly bent knees. This is how well-balanced people with high adaptive potential lie down. Sleeping on the left side is beneficial for people who work hard physically, facilitates digestion, while sleeping on the right side provides relief from liver problems. Cardiac patients should probably not sleep on their left side.

Sleeping on the stomach indicates people with a tendency to dominate, to control their surroundings, and the deeper the relationship, the easier it is to control others.

Legs exposed beyond the level of the bed may indicate a desire for change, legs crossed - may indicate inhibitions in dealing with other people, legs bent at the knees and extended forward - aggression.

Hands clenched into a fist are a sign of aggression and defence, hands grasping parts of the bed - looking for support from others, hands placed oppositely to each other is a sign of inner dilemma.

The position in which lovers sleep can say something about their relationship.
Couples like to fall asleep in the spoon position. The partners lie, each on the same side in a semi-fetal position closely side by side, like two teaspoons next to each other, hence the name. Their heads face the same way, their arms embrace their partner and sometimes their hands rest on the other half's intimate area. If the man lies at the back, this indicates his dominance in the relationship, while when the woman lies at the back, it indicates her leadership, (over)caring or commitment.

A very intimate sleeping position is the one called the embrace. The partners lie opposite each other each on a different side, facing each other and having their legs intertwined. This arrangement indicates great passion in the relationship. A certain emotional distance between the lovers reflects the fact that they are seeking their own micro-spaces in bed. This does not indicate a weakening of their feelings, but rather a decrease in sexual activity and a mutual trust and sense of security. A sudden change of position may indicate some sort of sleep nightmare, slight physical discomfort, or some sort of change of emotion. During sleep, communication between partners takes the form of body talk.

A few words about amulets and talismans

The wearing of amulets has a very old tradition. This custom has been known almost since the beginning of human cultures. Amulets were very widespread, as archaeological finds from different periods of ancient history, scattered all over the world, testify. People simply felt safer carrying a small object that they believed brought good luck.
We do the same, taking something 'lucky' with us to give us a boost before an important and extremely stressful event. It could be an important test, a driving test or a university exam, or a job interview on which it depends whether we get our dream job. In such cases, the task of the amulet is to raise our self-confidence, to strengthen the positive attitude, the source of which is within ourselves.

With amulets and talismans in earlier times (and possibly not only in earlier times) it is a little different. It is believed that their influence is related to what, when and for whom they were created (or made). Amulets, unlike talismans, are objects of natural origin. It is possible to select an amulet suitable for everyone by choosing objects, trinkets made of precious stones. This is because there are connections between precious stones and the various Zodiac signs (this information can be found on the home page, next to each Zodiac sign in the article "how to attract luck") .

Amulets are supposed to protect the owner from, among other things:
- evil spirits,
- bad people
- misfortunes
- accidents
- diseases
- thefts
- elements

It is said that an amulet is meant to guard against bad influences (or charms), while a talisman is meant to attract positive aspects

Talisman
The term talisman is derived from the Persian tilisman, the Greek telesma 'consecrated object' and the Arabic tilaasm 'magical image'.
Talismans are prepared over many days or weeks, according to strict rules. It is also necessary to follow the recommendations regarding the place and the period in which the talisman is made (this is about the effect of the phases of the moon on the talisman being made). Various aspects of astrology, numerology or Kabbalah are also important. Talismans come in many forms. In ancient times, they most often took the form of so-called sigils. A single si gil (from the Latin sigillum - "seal") is a sign created for a specific magical purpose. In ancient times, they were drawn on parchment or paper (sometimes engraved in metal or stone), and positive powers were summoned then. Sigils are transmitters of magical power that focus power within themselves like a lens of light. They refer to broader aspects of power and were made according to the requirements of secret knowledge, so they have a greater impact than ordinary pendants. A sigil should be worn with you, preferably in your pocket, as its essence is to act, not to adorn the owner. Everything concerning the creation of sigils is specified in a secret Book of Magic, and its secrets are closely guarded and available only to the initiated.

As such, talismans are meant to attract good luck, but it is better when their actions are focused on a specific area of life and a specified purpose. They may relate to, for example:
- finding the perfect partner
- good luck with the opposite sex
- getting a job
- career
- wealth
- increased chances of winning games of chance (the probability of winning the lotto increases by more than three thousand times)
- good relationships within the family
- quit smoking and alcohol
- fight against being overweight, leading to obesity
- fight depression
- gaining more self-confidence

A talisman should be as personalised as possible. This means that it should be created for one particular person. It will then have a much stronger effect on the bearer than generally available talismans. The causal powers of the talisman will concentrate on one person. Every person is different, lives in a different environment, has a unique character assigned to him or her. His destiny is also different, just as the astral systems were different when each of us was born. Some will be favoured by a power spell relating to the element of water, others by a spell relating to the element of fire. The realm of spiritual and astral influences is very dynamic and individualised. What has a positive effect on some will have a negative effect on others. The best solution, therefore, is a personal talisman subjected to a sacralisation process by a magic practitioner.
